Now is the perfect time to start a summer project with your little ones and renovate their rooms. This can be a fun activity that you and your kids can do together, get creative, and get your kids excited about their room. Here are some hacks, tips, and inspirations:
How amazing is this thin sheet of metal on a wall to make a massive board for magnetic letters and numbers for your little ones have fun practicing their spelling skills? We love the idea of turning something educational into an enjoyable activity that is sure to keep your kids entertained for hours.
Turn some old plastic animals into a bright and colorful art display. Just cut your toy in half, paint your animal head and canvas with whatever colors inspire you, and once dried glue the animal to your canvas. Viola you have now created a beautiful piece of art to display in your kids room. For more thorough instructions on how to create the display below check out Modge Podge Rocks.
Renting from a place where you aren't allowed to paint the walls? We have the perfect way to still add some interest to your walls without ever having to open a can of paint. All you need is some washi tape and a good chunk of time. To get the full details on how to create the same pattern below check out Everything Emily Blog.
Tips and Tricks:
- Keep storage units, shelves, and desks at child's height. This will help to make the room feel more like theirs and promote organization since they will be able to put away all of their toys themselves.
- Add fun nightlights or glow in the dark stars on the ceiling to help get your little one excited for bedtime. And imagine their excitement if you let them help put up the stars up too!
- Get their creative juices flowing by adding an art center, corner, wall or table. Don't forget about creating a display area for all of their beautiful art pieces! Have fun with it and create a gallery on the wall or hang them up on some string.
- Custom paint some old furniture with a bright color and get your child in on all the fun. Ask them to go with you to pick out their favorite shade and maybe even help design their own pattern to make it their own creation.
