How To Make Your Little Ones Feel Special

As a parent our lives can get a bit hectic and overwhelming with all of the errands, work, chores, and appointments on top of caring for our little ones. Fitting in the time to ensure that our kids feel special everyday isn’t as difficult or time consuming as you may think.

According to babycenter.com Leigh Leverrier, family coach, says "Children feel special when they are respected, noticed, listened to, and heard." Sounds simple enough right?

Here are a few of our favorite ways to ensure that your kids feel loved, respected, and listened to each and every day. You don’t need to buy extravagant toys or take them to outings to create special moments that your family will remember forever.

Mornings

Before the day even begins there are tons of amazing ways to ensure that your little ones wakes up feeling loved and special. Make the task of waking up your kids a memorable one by creating a unique tradition that you both will look forward to every morning. It could be anything from tickling them awake, pulling them off the bed, or singing a silly song as loud as you can. Morning cuddles is CIF teams favorite morning routine with our little ones!

Meals

When it comes to prepping meals here is the perfect opportunity to get creative and make it fun. Make it a fun art piece with faces made out of veggies or sandwiches cut into heart shapes, oh and don’t forget about leaving cute love notes for your little ones in their lunch sack! And if you are the sentimental type remember to take pictures of all the adorable lunch notes, save them, and see how they change and progress through the years.

Arts and Crafts

Our personal favorite! Doing crafts with your kiddies and spending quality time with them is a fun way to create memories, promote creativity, and have special time with your little kiddos. This is also a great time to build up your child’s self-esteem with compliments on their work and an activity where you can dedicate some time to genuinely talk with your little ones.  Ask them questions and really listen to what they’re saying, just simply knowing that they are being heard and that you are interested in them makes them feel special and loved.

Cuddles and Snuggles

Cuddle time with our little ones is our favorite time of the day. We know that sometimes it seems like there isn’t enough time in the day to simply be able to just relax and snuggle up with your little love bug but trust us all you need a few a minutes and will be worth every second. Snuggle up and watch their favorite show with them or make bedtime into a cuddle session. Or set an alarm in the morning and turn your snooze into special time in the morning where you can sleep in with your child and cherish quiet mornings together before the craziness of the day catches up with you.

How are some ways that you create special moments with your little ones?
